This track was inspired by a dear friend, Jacob George, who was a veteran of the War in Afghanistan. He was a musician an activist who struggled with PTSD and fought to end the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
lyrics
You’ve been riding
Working your body on down ‘til your mind lets go
You’ve been drinkin’ every night
You’re trying your best to make it right
It’s the only thing that makes you feel half alright
CHORUS
I know that you can’t come home
I know that you can’t come home
I know that you can’t come home until you know
Where you belong
They threw your body
On the gears of the war machine and it was rumbling
You lost yourself out on that road
You come on home and you’re all full of holes
You try and patch it up, but it just don’t hold
CHORUS
I’ll hold you tighter
At night I can feel your heart and it’s slipping away
We tried to build a home and I sure hoped you’d stay
But that look in your eyes, I can tell you’re miles away
And I’ll be working on this love until my dying day
CHORUS
